The smartphone isn’t released yet but the delivery date is expected in June 2020. The Kickstarter venture has blown past its objective and will be funded. As the company is based in Shanghai China, delays are also expected beforehand due to coronavirus outbreak.
The Unihertz Atom XL packs up with similar design components (red and dark colors, front elliptical fingerprint sensor, rugged shell) as that of its smaller version. However, the size of latest Atom XL is significantly larger than its predecessor.
Beginning at the front, we have the four-inch LCD screen. The top and bottom bezels are large while the side bezels are just a couple of mm wide. The display is simple yet large enough to read, write and handle other errands easily. The performance is flawlessly fine and works exceptionally well even outdoors.
Above the display, there is a headset speaker and a selfie camera. Then, below the display there is a fingerprint scanner that also acts as a home button. There is a task switcher capacitive button to one side and a back button to one side of the fingerprint sensor. These are haptic buttons with good vibration.
A situational device with competitive features and pricing and most importantly, it is not the first time around the block with the Unihertz. Therefore, we are confident that the smartphone will stay sturdy in any kind of rugged environment.
